After reading this book I felt that I had read it before. It is incredibly similar to pillars of the earth. That said, I found it disimilar enough to be very entertaining. Ken Follett does an incredible job of creating engaging and interesting characters and environments. Much of the storyline was similar to Pillars of the Earth but and the end of the book I just didn`t care. I don`t think you should care either.
